Introduce a more integrated risk reduction culture from the traditional response and relief-oriented culture of disaster management and expand food security as a critical component in ensuring community resilience in the face of disasters.

To reduce the risk to the public, especially the poor and vulnerable, from the effects of natural, environmental and man-made disasters to an acceptable and tolerable humanitarian level and to establish an efficient and effective emergency response system to deal with major disasters.


Strategic Objectives of National Disaster Management Plan:

1. professionalizing the disaster management process;

2. Integrating risk management activities with development mainstreaming;

3. Strengthening the institutionalization process;

4. empowering vulnerable populations;

5. broadening the scope of risk reduction programs;
